Welcome to SDSM&T Foundation
The SDSM&T Foundation is the official gift-receiving entity for the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. As a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, the Foundation exists solely to serve the university by seeking resources necessary to provide students with exceptional intellectual, professional and personal development opportunities.

The King Center (a.k.a. New Gym) was built in 1975-76 and is one of four buildings built during the presidency of Harvey Fraser. The other buildings were the Library, the Electrical Engineering / Physics building, and Palmerton Hall. An addition to Surbeck Center and the completion of an all-weather track were also completed during the Fraser era (1965-66 First Dean of Engineering / 1966-1975 President).

The Mines Legacy Fund will be the backbone of the SDSM&T Foundation and will help to achieve the University's mission. Gifts to the Mines Legacy Fund will support the Foundaton's efforts to provide student scholarships as well as faculty, department and co-curricular program support.

Building the Dream Campaign
On July 31, 2012, the School of Mines Foundation completed its Building the Dream capital campaign and reported raising a total of $53.6M for scholarships, faculty and student support, and infrastructure.
